Do you remember the times when you kicked, screamed, drew on the walls, and made a mess (in more ways than one) as a wee child? Well, your ever-loving, ever-patient mother remembers - and has loved you through it all.

Now that you’re older, you have the opportunity to tell mom how much you love her for being so loving and patient all those years, so why not consider some of the following events to make some new, hopefully less tantrum-like memories this Mother’s Day weekend?

1. Take Mom on a Mother’s Day Cruise

Who doesn’t love brunch? Better yet, who doesn’t love to go on a cruise?

Treat your mom to the best of both this Mother’s Day aboard the notorious Yacht StarShip! The whole family will enjoy fresh cuisine and calm breezes while coasting over crystal-blue waters.

Each ticket includes the 2-hour cruise, a delicious buffet, reserved table, and DJ entertainment. Book 3 tickets and mom cruises/enjoys brunch free of charge! (applies to the first 50 moms; limited offer)

2. Take Mom to See Alice in Wonderland; Ballet-Style

This Mother’s Day weekend, the Tampa Ballet Theater will be closing out its this season by performing an original, contemporary ballet-version of Alice in Wonderland. Relive all your childhood wonder with mom at your side in this exciting, two act ballet based off of the 1865 novel written by Lewis Carrol.

Performances will be held on Saturday May 9th at 7 p.m. and Sunday May 10th at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults $25, $20 for seniors, and $15 children/college students and are on-sale now at the Tampa Bay Ballet studio, online here or by calling 813-814-0587.

3. Take Mom to Design a Video Game

She used to yell at you to “put your Super Nintendo controller down and come help wash the dishes!” but now, you and mom have the opportunity to make amends by creating your very own video game together!

For four weeks, MOSI will be hosting Kodu, a powerful game-construction toolkit/programming language allows you to put your imagination to work and create your very own video game world!

The program will begin on Saturday May 9th (the day before Mother’s Day) and continue on to the following three Saturdays (May 16, 23, 30). The price is $80, $60 for MOSI members.  For more details, click here.

4. Take Mom to Look at the Stars!

MOSI - Museum of Science & Industry's Butterfly Garden will be hosting an up-close and personal view of the universe through MOSI telescopes on Saturday May 9th. Viewings will begin at sundown.

No tickets are required for this event because it is free and open to the public. Do keep in mind however that clear skies are a must in order to use the telescopes for their intended purpose. For more details, click here

These events are as unique and meaningful as your loving mother and promise to create memories that will last!

Treat mom to something different this Mother’s Day weekend. She deserves it!
