GuardianCon is a convention for gamers that brings broadcasters, artists, editors and other industry personnel together for two days to celebrate all the good that gaming does, and can do and will do in the future. It gives gamers of all kinds a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and meet their favorite Twitch streamers.

The convention they offered educational panels, live-streaming gaming exhibitions, industry vendors and much more. GuardianCon is a proud partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and raised a record-breaking amount of money this year.

Ninja, the “best Fortnite player of all time,” live streamed a game yesterday that helped raise almost $3 million for St. Jude’s.

Thank you every single person who donated during the final block of @GuardianCon In my specific block we raised $326,066.44 and collectively as a community we raised over $2,706,635.90

Gaming does good. I am blessed to share this platform and passion with all these people.

This year at the Tampa Convention Center the goal was to create an environment where players can connect over their love of gaming. The two most sought-after Fortnite players in the game actually did meet-and-greets during both days of the convention. Ninja and Dr. Lupo both signed autographs and took pictures with fans from across Florida

We spoke with both of them today about the newest season of Fortnite. “The new season so far... I absolutely love it! You can play basketball, you can hit a golf ball into a hole and an animation goes off,” said Ninja.

“They literally put Mario Kart Double Dash into the game, which is ridiculous.” said Dr. Lupo, another one of Fortnite’s best competitors. He announced on Twitter Friday morning how excited he was to meet and re-meet some of his fans.

Meet and greet is starting soon - can't wait to see everyone! If you don't make it in line today, there's always tomorrow!

By the way, please don't be offended if it takes me a second to remember you - I've already talked to a ton of wonderful people, and I know it's not over!

“There’s so much creativity that they’re bringing to the game now. They set a precedent of just ridiculous stuff they have to do. I thought to myself there’s no way they can one up season four and then they did,” said Dr. Lupo, or Ben Lupo, as his wife, family and friends like to call him.

Ninja, whose real name is Tyler Blevins, sees eye-to-eye with Dr. Lupo, “I literally thought that they were taking a season off and then they just kept on pushing forward with the game.”

And if you’re wondering if you’ll ever see them in the game then mark Ninja’s words that his “favorite skin is the one that looks like me with the hair shaved off.”

“You mean the not-ninja ninja skin?” his best friend, Dr. Lupo laughed and said.
