Love it or hate it, there's no time quite like the holiday season in Tampa.  To kick things off this year, Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Tampa city officials will join hundreds of their Tampa Bay area neighbors for a free and family friendly Tree Lighting Ceremony at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park this Friday, November 30.

Hosted by MAGIC 94.9 Morning Show's Chadd & Kristi, this Tampa tree lighting ceremony will kick off at 6 p.m. in the Downtown Tampa park with an assortment of live music, a free movie in the park, the lighting of the massive tree inside the park, and more.

Tampa's Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature a special performance from St. Petersburg native, American Idol finalist, and R&B singer Michael "Big Mike" Lynch as well as live music from Tampa's very own Late Night Brass.

Mayor Buckhorn and company will light the massive tree inside Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park before everyone will be treated to a special screening of How the Grinch Stole Christmas on the grass.

It all kicks off at 6 p.m.  Bring out the kids, pull up some chairs, and kick off the holidays right with Tampa's Tree Lighting Ceremony at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
