Unique Things to Do in Tampa 

April is a month full of spontaneity, especially in regards to the weather! One moment it's brisk and rainy, the next it's warm and dry. Luckily for you, we have fun events and cool things to do no matter the weather. Take a look at our list. What is your favorite way to spend time in Tampa Bay? 

Tampa Bay Chillounge Night

Chillounge Night is as cool as it sounds. At 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, Tampa’s Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park will be transformed into the ultimate outdoor lounge under the stars with food, drinks, live music and special events. This year, there will be three stages of live music as well as fireworks, a samba dance team and a fashion show! Come to Tampa Chillounge Night to drink, mingle and have fun the weekend before Easter. 

Tickets are $35 on the day of Chillounge but can be purchased for $25 at Chillounge Night’s website. VIP tickets are $150 the day of and $120 online and allow access to the VIP Lounge, an exclusive roped-off section providing food, beverages, desserts, a full espresso bar and a lounge seating to VIPs.

Remember to bring cash for the cash bar and food vendors as well as a lawn chair to make sure you have a seat (sofas and daybeds are limited). 

Primavera Music Festival 

Safety Harbor Waterfront Park is hosting a spectacular spring event this April! The Primavera Music Festival is a family-friendly event in Tampa Bay and one of the most popular ways to welcome spring. Local musicians like The Black Honkeys, Soul Circus Cowboys, Have Gun Will Travel and Ethan Parker will take the stage during the festival. Kids (and grown-ups, too!) get to enjoy the coolest Easter egg hunt ever, with a hot air balloon releasing Easter eggs from the sky! All proceeds from this event go to Project Primavera, a non-profit organization that mentors kids and young adults across the U.S. 

Q-Zar Tampa Laser Tag 

Are April showers getting you down? Are you battling spring fever, wanting to get out of the house but aren't sure where to go? Have no fear, Q-ZAR is here! This full game center is equipped with enough laser tag gear to last you and your friends a lifetime of fun. It's not just for the kids, either! Grown-ups can put their sharp-shooting skills to the test in this epic laser tag center. Pull a group of friends together, split yourselves up in teams and take each other on, playing in one of the coolest game centers in Tampa. Q-Zar Tampa Laser Tag is sure to be fun for the whole family and friend group!

Best of Tampa Bay

Come to the Straz Center for the Performing Arts and enjoy the BEST that Tampa Bay has to offer. With over 50 vendors participating in this event, you can indulge in the best food and drinks in our area. Local musicians will take the stage during the event, including Kayla Ember, Southern Train, Chris McCarty Trio and more! 

Brews & Bites

On the second Friday of each month, The Sail Pavilion at the Tampa Convention Center hosts Brews & Bites, a local foodie favorite! Brews & Bites is home to some of the best-tasting foods and craft beers in our local area. Grab a group of friends and head down to the convention center on Friday, April 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. for delicious food, crisp beer and a great time. 

Festa Italiana 

Italy is coming to Ybor on Thursday, April 6 through Sunday, April 9. Taste some of the finest wines and enjoy hearty, authentic meals at The Italian Club and Centennial Park. On Sunday, see famous Italian pop singer Zucchero take the stage at Centennial Park! Come celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Festa Italiana weekend!

Tampa Bay sports are growing in popularity and the locals want more! These cool sports events in Tampa are unique, memorable and loads of fun. 

Dog Day at the Rays

The Rays are opening the doors of Tropicana Field and welcoming your furry friends to a game! Experience Dog Day on Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $30 and include a special seat for you and your pup and a take home doggie bag. Take your four-legged best friend out to a ballgame and watch the Rays play the Houston Astros.

Tampa Bay Blues Festival 2017 

Vinoy Park is prepared for a full and vibrant weekend from Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9. The 2017 Tampa Bay Blues Festival features over 15 talented blues artists. These musicians are taking the stage over the course of the weekend, playing sweet tunes that will fill the sky with song and make you glad you were born. Artists include Albert Cummings, Coco Montoya, Tab Benoit and more. Enjoy a beautiful drive to downtown St. Pete and enjoy a blues concert series you'll never forget. 

Bullstock 2017 

University of South Florida students have enjoyed a memorable USF Week 2017 and now the university gets to close its celebration with one of the most wildly anticipated traditions in Tampa! Bullstock 2017 is happening Friday, April 7 at the USF Sundome. Bands like Echosmith, Bishop Briggs, Bad Suns and more are lighting up the Sun Dome this weekend. USF Bullstock 2017 is FREE to attend for students and visitors alike. While this is a full event, it shouldn't be overly crowded (like the sold-out Viola Davis event this week!) so head over to Fowler Ave and check out this huge one-night-only music festival.
