The University of South Florida in North Tampa will play host to the next Republican presidential primary debate on Monday, January 23.

The debate will be presented by NBC News, the Tampa Bay Times, National Journal, and the Florida Council of 100.  The debate will air live on NBC with NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams taking the moderator duties alongside a panel including Tampa Bay Times political editor Adam C. Smith.

Unfortunately, the debate will have a very limited amount or possibly no tickets the public due to limited seating at USF's Theatre 1.  Between the sponsors, media, and candidates, Theatre 1's space will be quite packed.  Some tickets may become available to USF after NBC finishes setting up the theater in a few days, but students will take priority when it comes to these tickets according to The Oracle.

The debate will precede the Florida Republican primary on Tuesday, January 31 and follows the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries.

This also precedes the Republican National Convention which will be held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum from August 27-30 later this year.  The convention is expected to bring 40,000 people and an estimated $170 million into the local economy.
