The Fourth of July is no ordinary date in the calendar. This day marked the beginning of the US modern history, the history of independence and the formation of the new independent state.
Event Details
On July 4, 1776, the members of the Second Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence. The first signer was the President of the Second Congress John Hancock whose signature immortalized the American independence No one else signed that day. The Declaration was adopted in Philadelphia, where guns fired, candles were lighted and bells rang the whole day. The next day the declaration was publicly announced in all major American cities.
In 2019 as Patriotic Riders, we have always celebrated the 4th of July by riding in the Safety Harbor Parade. The parade is a throwback to yesteryear, small town Main Street lined with families and little tikes waving flags. The Parade itself is only one mile long and will take you 10-15 minutes to complete the ride. But Safety Harbor is a beautiful little town that continues to hold onto its small town roots.
To start the day, well, breakfast. We will meet at the Paradise Restaurant (443 Main St, Safety Harbor, FL 34695) in Safety Harbor at 8:00am and have our KSU to the Parade starting point at 9:00am. I encourage all to wear your Patriotic Rider stuff, have some US Flags on your bike as well as water and sunscreen. The parade will end at the Safety Harbor American Legion, where we will park and go inside for some AC and a drink. After that you are free to enjoy the 4th however you wish.
