Tampa Bay Harvest is a premier, local nonprofit that's been working to end hunger in the Tampa Bay area for over 20 years.
Every day, Tampa Bay Harvest volunteers work tirelessly collecting sale dated and excess food items from local supermarkets, hospitals, schools, restaurants, hotels, caterers, and other foodservice-related organizations. They then take these collected food items and cycle them back into the Tampa Bay social service community by donating them to a group of over 280 charitable 501(c)3 agencies that feed the hungry throughout Tampa.
The work these TBH volunteers have done throughout the years has enabled a wide variety of Tampa charities to expand their services without stretching their typically small budgets. With the help of donated food from Tampa Bay Harvest, these charities can allocate funds to other aspects of their organizations including job training, medical and day care, continuing education, and more.
With a special focus on children born into low-income and/or broken families, the work Tampa Bay Harvest still has cut out for them is more important than ever.
Even with their burgeoning success over the years, Tampa Bay Harvest always needs volunteers for food pickups and other important tasks the organization needs for continued growth in the Tampa Bay area. Will Carey is a driving force behind TBH and the only paid employee of the organization as the Director of Operations. The rest are all volunteers.
Monetary donations are always welcome and enable TBH to purchase a variety of food at discounted, bulk prices for those in need.
