Ybor nightclub Czar dropped some big news Wednesday afternoon as club officials announced plans to leave their original 14,000-square-foot location and move across the street to a new home inside The Ritz Ybor according to Creative Loafing Tampa.

The new hybrid venue - aptly titled Czar at The Ritz - will aim to combine the best elements from each of these Ybor nightlife institutions to create an all-in-one space that caters to both club-goers and live music fans.

Sandi Hein, current manager at Czar and overseer of the move, spoke to Creative Loafing earlier today, stating "We’re going in and spending a lot of money to make it look like a nightclub instead of a live music venue.”

But, even though it won't look like a live music venue, The Ritz will still continue to host concerts while Czar will continue its nightly parties on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays each week Creative Loafing reports.

The only caveat, though, may be a lack of Ritz concerts on Friday nights, since it's typically the most popular and lucrative night of the week for Czar, but exceptions to this will be considered if the proposed artist will draw a comprable crowd said Hein.

The merger isn't just in the name, either.  Beginning Monday, The Ritz Ybor will undergo a renovation process to make the longstanding venue more nightclub-suitable with less walls and more space for people to circulate, additional bars, a supplemental sound system, a 40-by-40-foot LED ceiling and more.
