We don't know about you, but it was a sad, sad day for us when the news broke that the famed Mema's Alaskan Tacos in Ybor City was closing.

This neighborhood mainstay in the heart of Ybor City was a favorite spot for late-night partygoers looking for some delicious Mexican eats after the club.  When Mema's closed, rumors swirled as to which business would take over this prime restaurant location in the heart of the district.

Well, it's a mystery no more.  James Joyce, the old-school, high-rise Irish Pub on 7th Avenue will be moving into the former location of Mema's Alaskan Tacos located at 1724 East 8th Avenue.

The new James Joyce Irish Pub will transform the late night taco joint into a large-scale Irish brew pub boasting 50, yes, 50 different draft beer taps, authentic, hand-scraped hardwood floors, a full menu full with traditional Irish fare, late night food service, and much more.

In addition, the parking lot at the new James Joyce Irish Pub will be wet-zoned, so expect this large-scale Irish bar and restaurant to throw a variety of outdoor beer tent events throughout the year.

The new James Joyce Irish Pub location is on track to open on March 1.  We'll keep you posted as more details arise.
