Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is an ideal outdoor destination featuring hundreds of exotic plants and more in Sarasota.
In addition to being a respected center for research and education, Marie Selby Botanical gardens plays home to thousands of exotic and colorful plants on 14 acres amongst 12 buildings in a brick-laid section of Sarasota.
This popular attraction in Sarasota is well known for its vast collection of over 6,000 different orchids as well as a huge assortment of other beautiful plants in their outdoor greenhouses. Selby Gardens research staff have collected many of these plants from the wild on more than 200 scientific expeditions to tropical rain forests all throughout the world.
There are various gardens housed throughout the premises including towering bamboo and banyan groves, a cactus and succulent garden, hibiscus garden, mangrove forest, tropical fruit garden, fern garden, and more.
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is an ideal destination for daytime dates, private events like weddings, and much more.
Want to visit? Admission to Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 5-17, and free for kids 4 and under. Admission includes access to outdoor gardens, Tropical Conservatory, Museum of Botany and the Arts, and the Garden Shop.
Membership to the Gardens start at $75 per person, per year, and will get you free admission all year long. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Christmas.
