South Floridians enjoy beautiful weather all year. But no time of year is more pleasant than the middle of autumn with a crisp South Florida winter on the horizon. It’s a time when everyone from local bar hoppers to snowbirds want to be outside as much as possible. And that certainly applies to grabbing a drink with friends. Which is why we compiled a list of Broward County’s best outdoor bars.

Rhythm and Vine

Just blocks away from downtown Ft. Lauderdale and the always bustling Las Olas lies the city’s best outdoor beer garden. Rhythm and Vine combines a festival’s feel with the buzz of a hip lounge. Rhythm and Vine boasts a varied beer menu as well as top-notch cocktails. With rotating food trucks and games galore, there are few better places to kick back with a drink and relax with friends.

From brunch to happy hour and ladies’ night, TAP 42 FTL seems to do everything right. While there is a pretty slick indoor dining and bar area, you get the full experience outside. With high tops and a warm atmosphere, you’ll want to stay there all day. As its name suggests, there are 42 beers on tap, and a scrumptious menu offering traditional American fare.
As one of South Florida’s most popular stomping grounds for locals, America's Backyard delivers a hot party every weekend. Unlike the previous bars we mentioned, America’s Backyard is purely a party spot (though there is a food vendor). And what a party it is! This venue takes full advantage of its space and feels like a wild backyard party. With multiple bars and dancefloors, bar dancing shot girls serving tasty little cocktails, and a respectable beer and drink menu, you’re likely to drink the night away at one Broward County’s best outdoor bars.
Eating and drinking beachside is a South Florida requirement. And there’s no better place to do that than 101 Ocean. Located in Lauderdale by the Sea, this restaurant serves filling seafood platters and refreshing cocktails perfect for sipping while sitting mere feet from the ocean. 101 Ocean’s seating arrangement makes it pretty ideal for people watching or just relaxing.

Coconuts

Another beachside restaurant, Coconuts’ atmosphere captures true South Floridian leisure. Coconuts has a casual feel and a seafood menu that people across the tri-county area love. As one of the best outdoor bars in Broward County, this restaurant is known for its Sunday brunches. And what’s more Ft. Lauderdale than sipping on a mimosa while watching a yacht?

Located out in Pembroke Pines, Ra Sushi is a bit off the beaten path if you live in Ft. Lauderdale. But it's certainly worth the westward drive. Ra is famous for its sushi but beloved for its happy hours. Particularly it's Sunday happy hour which runs from 3 pm to close. This makes their outdoor patio area a pretty ideal place to hang out with your friends as you close out the remaining moments of the weekend. And with half-priced sushi, sake and beer options, it's probably you'll stay until close.

McSorley's Beach Pub

McSorley's Beach Pub is the rare venue that can do it all. A beach dive bar on the surface, McSorley's is what you'd expect upon entering. But if you venture upstairs, this outdoor bar in Ft. Lauderdale is a beach drinking den that transforms from dive bar to hip lounge. And that hip lounge boasts one of Broward County's best outdoor bar parties. Lined with couches, a DJ spinning hot tunes and a dance floor, there's no better place to dance the night away with fresh air in your lungs and a view of the beach.

Elbo Room

Whether its packed to the brim with boisterous spring breakers, overflowing with locals on a holiday weekend, or even just on a typical weekend, there's never seems to be a time when Elbo Room isn't near capacity--and lacking elbow room, ironically. .And for a good reason. Elbo Room offers everything you'd want out of an outdoor beach bar: cheap drinks, great (often live) music, beautiful people, and an even more breathtaking view of the beach. From midday to sunset, there are few better day parties than this.

The City of Hollywood and Hollywood Beach are among the most underrated nightlife hangout locations in Broward County. And few places are a better example of this than Nick's Bar and Grill. While it's a staple for locals, many people don't even realize this joint is even there until they stumble upon as they make their way back from the beach. And little did those people know that they had stumbled upon one of the best outdoor bars in Hollywood, which also serves up some of the tastiest food. Mahi Mahi, fish dip, affordable drinks and an open-air bar? It doesn't get much better than that.

With fire breathers, Polynesian dancers and an authentic aesthetic, Mai Kai is a must-visit for all. It offers an atmosphere like no other, so if you've never witnessed a traditional Polynesian show, that is reason enough to visit. But if you come for the show, you'll surely stay for the delicious Polynesian food and refreshing drinks. The decor and show make this outdoor experience an ideal date location, too.

Everyone likes to eat, drink, and be merry. And that experience is heightened when you're soaking in the sun or gazing at the midnight sky. So, if you want to eat and drink, there's no way you won't be merry if you pay a visit to one of Broward County's best outdoor bars.
