Butterfly World

No family visit to Fort Lauderdale would be complete without visiting the world’s largest butterfly house. Founded in 1988, the attraction is the result of one Illinois transplant’s obsession with butterflies and his desire to share these beautiful creatures with others. Butterfly World opened with three acres of butterfly aviaries, botanical gardens, a working butterfly farm, and a research center. Since then, it’s added two additional aviaries for tropical birds and an interactive lorikeet encounter, as well as a skilled aviculture care and research center.
