That time of the year is approaching – summer break for the kids. As a parent, you either love it or loathe it. A common summer conundrum, how to keep your kids entertained and active. Cheval Golf & Athletic Club in Lutz has you covered with Camp Cheval!

Camp Cheval has a myriad of activities and classes from which to choose. From sports and music to crafts and cooking, there’s bound to be something to spark an interest, even for the hard-to-please kiddos.

Surrounded by beautiful ponds and greenery, the camp’s serene and secluded grounds are located in the gated community of Cheval. Within a safe and supervised environment, the camp invites participants to have fun and make new memories and friends that will last a lifetime. Engaging and education-based activities help build self-esteem and nurture communication and collaboration skills. As Camp Cheval’s slogan goes, it’s “the place to be”.

Golf, tennis, and aquatics offer sport-focused camps. For the young golfer in your family, there’s beginner and intermediate, tournament, and PGA Jr. League camps. Is your child the next Serena Williams or Rafael Nadal? The tennis tournament training camp offers instruction on plyometrics, stroke correction, workouts, and more. This camp is skills-based, and selection is required. There is also a Middle and High School Tennis Introductory Camp and Young Aces and Grand Slammers programs. The water welcomes the swimmers of your brood with several different introductory and advanced program options for ages six and up. If your child(ren) can’t decide between the three, there’s Triple Play, where two-hour clinics on each sport is available. Basketball, flag football, and the new sand soccer offer overall coverage on its respective sport.

Full day camps include Best of Both Worlds and Travel Camp, as well as a new addition of cheerleading, where participants can enjoy a week of dancing, basic stunting, and technique. The Color Express Camp is new to the half day camp lineup and allows kids to express themselves using supplies like watercolors, fabric paints, charcoal pencils, and will culminate with an art show. Other half day possibilities are Create Camp, Princess Power, Bach to Rock, and several fun and delicious cooking camps.

And don’t forget the LEGO-focused Bricks 4 Kidz, which offers a series of exciting full and half day camps.

The entirety of Camp Cheval runs 10 weeks, June 3 to August 9 (no camp on July 4). Costs to attend vary depending on how many weeks and which activities, camps or combination thereof are selected.
