Acropolis Greek Taverna now has a late night happy hour special to die for! College kids are always looking for a cheap bite to eat, and it's even better if its late night. So Acropolis in North Tampa came through for those University of South Florida students and everybody else that appreciates a good cheap bite with their late night happy hour Sunday through Thursdays. It's got half-prize appetizers that start at 10 p.m. until closing time!

Authentic Greek food is an Acropolis’ staple, with traditional items like falafel and domlades created just like you'd see on the streets of Athens. Some of the available appetizers include the Ouzo mussels and the Saganaki. The Ouzo mussels are a serving of mussels sauteed with garlic, onions, basil, Ouzo, Santorini wine and fresh tomato, which will satisfy your every seafood craving! The Saganaki is a slice of kefalograviera cheese grilled then flambed with cognac and served with pita bread. For a warm bite of comfort food, try their stuffed mushrooms or their spinach artichoke dip.

Many people come to Acropolis for their authentic Greek food like their freshly made hummus and their spinach and cheese spanakopita, but others come for the entertainment. Throughout the night you’ll see the traditional breaking of plates that is a Greek symbol of friendship, and the entire staff participates in a dance called Zorba twice a day every day at 6pm and 9pm. The Zorba is a hop, skip and jump away from an Irish Step dance with traditional Greek music playing along while the staff dances in a circle. There are belly dancers that come to the restaurant and perform and interact with customers throughout the night on Friday and Saturday. And yes, they do work for tips so bring a buck or two!

Come to the Acropolis on Bruce B Downs Boulevard on any Thursday through Saturday night after 10pm to try any of these appetizers for half-price. Or try double the appetizers because you’re *technically* still spending the same amount??
