In addition to the proliferation of food trucks in Tampa, we'd venture to guess the next biggest restaurant trend of 2011 was the rise of the gourmet burger restaurant.  Burger 21, Burger Monger, Stacked Burgers, and Square One Burgers all saw opportunity in this culinary niche and we, the people, have responded quite nicely to this growth of Tampa burger restaurants.

So nice in fact that BGR The Burger Joint decided on Tampa as the next location for serving up their grilled, gourmet, and juicy signature burgers.  BGR opened its North Tampa location back in November.  With around two months under it's belt, it's proving it can run with the already-established big dogs of the great burger restaurants in Tampa.

BGR values quality over everything else when it comes to a delicious burger.  Their beef only comes from the finest grain fed cattle with no hormones, fillers, or antibiotics added.  Buns are baked fresh and delivered daily and their burgers are grilled over an open flame as opposed to a greasy flat-top.

BGR offers a variety of different burgers for an assortment of tastes.  The Burger, their flagship burger, comes on a buttered, toasted, and pillowy brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and mojo sauce.

Other selections include the Turkey Burger freshly ground then blended with portobello mushrooms and a gorgonzola cheese; mini sliders; a Cuban Burger topped with slow roasted pork, ham, sweet pickles, dijon mustard and swiss cheese on a pressed brioche bun; and The Greek Burger featuring ground leg of lamb seasoned with cumin, mint and garlic then topped with tzatziki sauce and feta cheese.

BGR also serves up a variety of shakes, floats, fries (including sweet potato), thick-cut onion rings, and more.

If you're a burger fan (and really, who isn't?) give this new burger restaurant in Tampa a shot to see what they're all about.  Don't forget to give them a rating and review on the BGR The Burger Joint 813area.com business listing.
