Shhh, what’s the password? Luckily, you do not need a password to read this article but to get into Ciro’s Speakeasy in Hyde Park, you’ll have to have one. Finding speakeasy restaurants in Tampa is not an easy task. In fact, this is it… Ciro’s. A 20’s prohibition-era restaurant and bar awaits just beyond the Bayshore Boulevard waters. They do not advertise, they do not have a website, but they do have a Facebook!

It was the creative minds of co-owners Ro Patel and Gordon Davis that came to create Ciro’s Speakeasy in Tampa, Florida. Together they have formed an establishment that would make even the most skeptical critic believe they were in the 20’s. The pompous valet, the wait at the door, the dark entrance to the rules and password request, the bar and the small tables all add to the themed décor at this speakeasy. The menu is a bit pricey but the food and drinks will leave your palate craving more of the detailed flavors. Executive Chef Ted Dorsey does wonders with his skills in the kitchen and the bartenders with their unbeatable cocktail concoctions.

This is one experience that every Tampa local and visitor should have. Call ahead for a reservation of 6 or more, any party less than that, expect to wait, but remember the wait is worth it. Go for the experience and let go of any traditional mannerisms of the normal day to day restaurant etiquette, and as always make sure to come back to rate and review Ciro’s for everyone to get a better feel of what to expect at Ciro’s Speakeasy.
