Since its inaugural 1992-1993 season, the Tampa Bay Lightning has been to the Stanley Cup playoffs 11 times. With the Presidents’ Trophy in-glove, the team will skate into the playoffs with a historical regular season behind them.

Bolts fans – wear your team gear and gather to celebrate what is sure to be a riveting quest for the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning Playoffs Bar Crawl & Party, Saturday, April 13. Hosted by Tampa’s premier experiential events team, the Downtown Crawlers, and sponsored by Bud Light, the event starts at Franklin Manor at 3 p.m. and crawls to Yeoman’s Cask & Lion, District Tavern, and lastly, the rooftop of Mole y Abulea. Roughly one-and-a-half hours is spent at each location. Shotgun a beer for access back onto the bus to the next bar – not mandatory, but fun.

For $25 guests will be transported by buses to each bar where they will be welcomed with a shot of tasty liquor. Drink and food specials will be available, along with your chance to win additional drink vouchers and tickets to local events by kicking butt at everyone’s favorite bar games beer pong, cornhole, and flip cup. There will be raffles for prizes, including autographed pucks and gear, as well as the opportunity to win swag with the Bud Light Accuracy Shot. Thunderbug and the Lightning Girls will be there to cheer everyone on. Members of Sticks of Fire, the unofficial Lightning Fan Club, will also be in tow.

If September’s Tampa Bay Lightning Season Kick-off Bar Crawl is any indication, there will be a huge crowd. Thomas Neuert, director of events for Downtown Crawlers, is anticipating a sell-out. “We had about 275 people come out for [the season kick-off bar crawl]. That’s a good amount,” Neuert said. “Typically, there are about 300 to 350.”

This isn’t your grandma’s bar crawl either. “It’s a high-end event that’s great for team building and networking,” explained Neuert. “And also drinking,” he chuckled. Yes, that’s important.

Neuert’s thought is that if this first playoffs bar crawl is successful enough it’ll warrant organizing one for each round of the playoffs; at the very least, any season the Lightning reaches the playoffs. “I would love to ring in every round with this event. First, though, they have to win,” he said, smiling.
