Peabody's, the popular college hangout, restaurant, and billiards lounge in North Tampa, has gone smokeless.

While likely a bummer for those who enjoy a tobacco stick or ten with a couple rounds of pool, it's nothing but great for Peabody's owner Brian Peabody who can now greatly revamp and expand Peabody's menu as a result of going smoke-free.

According to New Tampa Neighborhood News, Peabody's was already selling too much food to allow smoking inside the establishment, so either one had to go - the food or the smoking.

Peabody's took the decidedly healthier option by banning smoking and now, expanding their food menu.  Even still, smokers can smoke on their newly-expanded outdoor patio between enjoying everything from pool to darts, video games, TVs with all the big sports games, and more inside.

While still offering an assortment of typical (but tasty) sports bar fare like wings, burgers, hot sandwiches, and more, Peabody's has now expanded into somewhat finer territory thanks to new chef Alex Sigeti.  New menu items at Peabody's include fried calamari, a blackened chicken salad with corn salsa, crab and spinach dip, a roast beef pressed panini sandwich, and much more.

Sound good?  Head out and discover, maybe even rediscover, why this North Tampa bar, restaurant, and more has been doing it so well for over 14 years.
