Scott “Scooter” Courtney once had a dream: to open a first-rate barbecue restaurant that serves mouthwatering cuisine and leaves customers satisfied and wanting more.

This year, the dream became reality when he opened Scooter's Saloon just behind the Harley Davidson dealership in Brandon.

Scooter moved to Tampa in 1982 and landed one of the best gigs in the restaurant business - becoming a server at Tampa’s universally-renowned Bern’s Steakhouse. In his 12 years serving at Bern’s, he learned all about the restaurant business and how to appeal to customer’s taste buds.

In the years to follow, Scooter tried his hand at various entrepreneurial pursuits, which led him to founding Scooter’s Saloon - a full-service restaurant and bar that serves an array of some of the most exquisite barbecue the Tampa area has to offer.

At Scooter’s Saloon, a gentle, but pleasant aroma of burning wood invites hungry customers to enjoy an array of the best barbecue in Tampa - which ranges from their succulent and tender barbecue, to melt in your mouth roasted chicken; all cooked on a massive smoker by Executive Chefs Anthony Chick and Richard Mac Kizer - who are in a culinary league all their own.

Encouraged by the success of his award-winning burgers and the popularity of his saloon, Scooter plans to release Scooter’s BBQ sauce, which will soon be available in the lower 48 states.

Delicious, succulent cuisine, right in our backyard - Scooter’s Saloon is a barbecue lover’s dream come true!
