Pomodoro Pizza & More is one of the newest additions to the modest line up of pizza restaurants in Brandon area.  Situated just off Highway 60 in a somewhat hidden shopping center, this nondescript pizza shop offers all the standards - New York style pizza, calzones, wings, subs, and more - with speed, taste, and affordability as apparent top priorities.

Pomodoro boasts an open kitchen and a dining area lined with a few tables.  Their bread and butter seems to be their takeout orders.  If you're looking for a quick bite you can dine in, but it's hardly a sit down-and-order, bring-the-whole-team kind of pizzeria.

That's the charm, though.  Pomodoro is obviously focused on crafting great pizza, the rest is just details.  Owner, Rosaria Lubrano, is a native Italian by way of New Jersey and definitely knows his way around a solid, hand-tossed pie.

Pizza at Pomodoro comes by the slice and variety of different sized pies.  Some of their specialty pies include the Italiana, a white pie with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, spinach, tomato, and garlic; the Works with pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, and onions; and the Meat Lovers with pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs.

For lunch, two of their huge slices and a soda for $4.99 is a hard deal to beat, granted, you're limited to whatever's on display behind the counter.  I went with the standard cheese and an intriguing, orange-tinged slice of buffalo chicken.

Both were good, not great, but definitely passable if you're craving a slice.  The mild buffalo sauce melding with mozzarella cheese made for a succulent combo while the cheese was fairly indiscernable from any standard slice you'd grab around the city.

Overall, Pomodoro Pizza & More will treat you right and fill you up if you're looking for pizza in Brandon, not too much more, and not too much less.  Give them a try, see if you agree, then give them your own rating and review on the Pomodoro Pizza & More 813area business listing.
