The Egg & I, located in the heart of Riverview's Winthrop Town Centre, has become one of the most popular Brandon breakfast and brunch destinations. The restaurant serves lunch too, but there's no dinner available as it’s open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Brandon/Riverview location opened in October 2013 as a branch of the chain which began in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1987. It's become well-known among Brandon and Riverview area organizations who hold weekday meetings because they offer meeting space for free as long as attendees buy food.

The breakfast and brunch menu offers unique options for all tastes, such as the scrumptious Crab Cake Benedict: two poached eggs with grilled lump crab cakes and tomato slices piled on an English muffin, topped with creamy hollandaise. The apple cinnamon pancake takes fresh apple slices and crunchy granola, and bakes them into one large whole-wheat pancake, sprinkled with cinnamon and topped with cinnamon butter. No matter what you order, the massive pancakes will grab your attention as they are delivered to other tables in the restaurant.  The Egg & I menu also appeals to all good millennials with California Avocado Toast. While best known in Brandon for their breakfast and brunch offerings, The Egg & I has a lunch menu with soups, salads and sandwiches. Make sure to check out the menu for the full list of available options.

Pictured here from a recent visit is The Egg & I's Hiker's Benedict. It’s two poached eggs with smoked ham, bacon, asparagus, house-roasted crimini mushrooms, and tomatoes piled high on an English muffin, all topped with creamy dill hollandaise. A side of seasoned ranch potatoes adds even more delicious flavor.

The restaurant also does an excellent job with classic breakfast favorites, like their Two Egg Breakfast. It features two eggs made fresh to order with a choice of bacon, smoked ham, or sausage patties, plus seasoned ranch potatoes and an English muffin. The Two Egg Breakfast with bacon is normally my go-to menu item, but on this visit, I chose ham to mix things up. The scrambled eggs came out perfectly soft.

The Brandon breakfast eatery also features some of the friendliest staff around, making sure your beverages stay filled and your day starts off right!
