Renowned University of Florida quarterback turned Denver Bronco, then New York Jet, and now free agent Tim Tebow has decided to invest in a new Jacksonville location for the Tampa-based fast casual restaurant chain, PDQ, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

PDQ, short for "Pretty Darn Quick" or "People Dedicated to Quality" was developed by Outback Steakhouse co-founder Bob Basham as a quick service restaurant specializing in chicken tenders, sandwiches, salads, and more in a casual and contemporary setting.

The restaurant chain opened its flagship location on S. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa back in December of 2011 before quickly expanding with multiple locations throughout the Tampa Bay area as well as Fort Lauderdale, Raleigh and Concord, North Carolina, and soon, with the help of Tim Tebow, Jacksonville.

The new location backed by Tebow is expected to open sometime this summer at 3260 Hodges Blvd. in Jacksonville.

Tebow isn't the first professional athlete to back PDQ either.  He'll join a modest list of local sports celebs including former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Derek Brooks and Vinny Testaverde who've backed the company in recent months.

The ever-growing company plans to expand even more with its unique investment model which allows investors (like Tebow) to share in the proceeds of a location while PDQ maintains control of day-to-day operations, according to the Business Journal.

The PDQ website currently shows future locations set for West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Lakeland and Jacksonville as well as Wake Forest and Cary, North Carolina; and Columbia, South Carolina.
