Coal-fired pizza is delicious! My table also enjoyed their meatballs. Everything was yummy and the wait staff is friendly. If you're a PHS fan, it's a close walk to school.

Burnt pizza, way too expensive. Lethargic front of house staff. Argued over whether a glass of red wine brought to the table was "sauvignon blanc." Uh. "It's a white wine, it just looks red..."

Pros: The calzone was good.

Cons: horribly expensive for a pizza joint. And they BURN the pizza. And then have the temerity (balls) to tell you: "that's the way they make it in New York."

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza has a great location on Dale Mabry in South Tampa. The food is EXCELLENT and the atmosphere has a mix of Italian and sports. The bar is accessible from the inside or outside and the patio allows you to enjoy the great Tampa weather. I thought the "well done" pizza would taste burnt but it is really good. The pizza I had was the Paul & Young Ron pizza as that is what they are known for and it was mouthwatering. The wings are to die for as they are marinated for 24 hours then baked in the same coal fired oven as the pizza and topped with caramelized onions. Mmmmmmm, mmmmmm good! They also have micro brews on draft like Cigar City Brewing Company.

Pros: Location, pizza & wings, service, and atmosphere.

Cons: I am sure during busy times the traffic on Dale Mabry can make Anthony's hard to get to but it is well worth it.
