In an effort to boost ticket sales in one of the NFL's most revenue-depleted markets, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced plans to reduce ticket prices on 80% of the seats in Raymond James Stadium for the 2012 season.

If you've been, you know a trip to a Bucs game is hardly a cheap endeavor; $25 parking coupled with ticket prices ranging from $35 to $300+ and food, it can add up quick.

The Tampa Bay market eventually responded to this priciness by attending games less frequently.  In turn, the team has suffered from dismal ticket sales.  With absolutely no home sell-outs, the Bucs were the only team in the NFL to have every single home game blacked out during the 2010 season.

Motivated by this and overwhelming fan feedback, the Buccaneers decided to implement lower ticket prices for the majority of seats in Raymond James Stadium, offer a wider selection of prices, and implement a larger discount for the purchase of season ticket packages.

Adult general admission seats will be reduced from $35 to $30 while kids general admission will drop from $17.50 to $15.  Premier locations like lower level end zone seating will also be reduced from a price of $89 to $75.

The Bucs will also implement a number of other fan-friendly features beginning next year.  Some of these include free wireless internet access and player meet and greets with the fans.

So far this season, only two of the nine Buccaneer home games have sold out.  Let's hope for greener ticket sale pastures come 2012.
