We thought things might get better when it comes to watching our hometown Bucs on TV with the newly-revised NFL blackout rules, but, so far, apparently they haven't.  The Buccaneers home opener at Raymond James Stadium against the Carolina Panthers has been blacked out on all local TV.

Despite offering free parking and half-priced concessions in celebration of cornerback Ronde Barber's 200th consecutive start, the Bucs couldn't manage to sell out 85 percent or more of Raymond James Stadium, the minimum percentage the team would need to sell in order to have their opening game broadcast on local television.

Now, as the team's breached the 72 hour pre-game mark, the game will be blacked out on all televisions within a 75 mile radius of Raymond James Stadium.  Of the 17 Bucs games played at home during the past two seasons, 15 of them have been blacked out local television, so it's hard to say this comes as a surprise.

As always, we'll keep you updated as more news arises regarding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the effects of the NFL blackout rules.
