The second annual Mayor’s River O'Green Celebration is taking place on Saturday, March 16 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Downtown Tampa.

The city will to dye a certain section of the Hillsborough River green to commemorate this Irish holiday. Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn (an Irishman himself) will be on hand to commemorate this unique occasion.

There will be an assortment of entertainment, food trucks and activities on hand to make the event complete. The event will be free and open to the public, but you'll have to bring your own cash to purchase food and drinks.

The Tampa Downtown Partnership will be on hand selling beer including Guinness and Cigar City supplied by JJ Taylor Distribution. Proceeds from all alcohol sales at Mayor's River O'Green will benefit Realm, the Downtown Partnership’s nonprofit, to program downtown parks.

Any attendee who brings three non-perishable food items will get a green "Saint Patrick's Army" shirt provided by the folks at the Salvation Army. Food items will benefit the Salvation Army and those in need.
