During our month long observance of Miscarriage and Infant Loss Awareness Month last October we hosted a blood drive for Placenta Accreta awareness and had a great turnout! We were even unable to accomodate all of the people willing to donate.
We'd like to continue hosting periodic blood drives because the need is so great in our local area. Hemorrhage is the #1 cause of maternal deaths and this continues to be a cause that needs our attention and contributions.
With your blood donation, you will be helping to save lives in our local area. One Blood is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing blood and components to all 38 hospitals and 70 ambulatory facilities in the tri-county area. They need approximately 1000 donations every day to keep up our local supplies for and on average they only have a 2-3 day supply locally. Your donation will be used within 72 hours to save patient lives.
All donors will receive a Free T-Shirt, your blood type and a mini-wellness check- up including a Cholesterol screening, blood pressure, pulse and iron check.
