Vanguards of the a cappella craze,
Event Details
The Swingles started in the 1960s as a trippy mix of Parisian session singers riffing on Bach. The current group of seven young singers in the London-based group carry the legacy of wild trips through vocal music, this time traveling ‘round the world to collect folk songs from Kenya to Portugal, Finland to Afghanistan, each one telling an exotic tale about the universal human experience. Combining these rare “songs from life” with The Swingles’ greatest hits of the last 50 years, this concert delivers “superhero singing to truly raise goosebumps” (The Guardian).
