711 N Franklin Street, Tampa, FL 33602
Community: Downtown Tampa
Description
Halla (Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir) is a 50-year-old woman with a quiet, routine life. But unbeknownst to anyone, she spends her days off as a passionate environmental activist known by the alias “The Woman of the Mountain.”
Event Details
As Halla’s actions grow bolder, from petty vandalism to outright industrial sabotage, her one-woman war succeeds in pausing negotiations between the Icelandic government and a cold and irresponsible aluminum corporation.
But right as she begins planning her biggest and boldest operation yet, she receives an unexpected letter that changes everything. This wry feature from director Benedikt Erlingsson is an environmental drama wrapped in whimsical, droll comedy and tied with a bow of midlife soul-searching.
1h 41m / Not Rated / Drama / Icelandic with English subtitles
