Event Details
FREE SCREENING AT AL LOPEZ PARK
Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. E.T. soon falls ill, however, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.
Steven Spielberg’s classic timeless story of a lost and magical visitor from a long way away, trying to return home, continues to captivate viewers of all ages. The audience doesn’t need to speak E.T.’s language to empathize with his fear and loneliness, to wonder at his powers, and to want to help him in his struggle to get back to where he belongs. Sometimes the aliens aren’t the real monsters.
This free, outdoor screening will take place at Al Lopez Park, 4810 N. Himes Avenue in Tampa. Picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged!
1h 55m / PG / Sci-Fi
