Description
Learn to make an organic free form shaped polymer clay vase. Students will use households items to build a substrate for a vase inspired by the fluted vase on view at the Tampa Museum of Art.
Event Details
Students will also make a second polymer clay vase. The technique for the second vase is based on the glass making technique known as millefiori. The term millefiori is a combination of the Italian words "mille" (thousand) and "fiori" (flowers). Millefiori can be traced to Ancient Roman, Phoenician and Alexandrian times. By substituting polymer clay for the glass one can make similar torch fired millefiori designs that have the appearance of the original glass technique, but can be made in your home oven.
