Description
Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran (Robert De Niro) is a man with a lot on his mind. A mob hitman and World War II vet who developed his violent talents during his service in Italy, he’s now an old man with a lifetime of haunting memories.
Event Details
3h 28m / R / Crime, Drama
The Irishman lays out his reflections on the events that defined his career as a hired killer, particularly the role he played in the disappearance of labor leader and longtime friend Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), and his involvement with Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci, coming out of semi-retirement), head of the Bufalino crime family. Bobby Cannavale, Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, and Anna Paquin round out the all-star cast.
The New York Times calls it “a monumental, elegiac tale of violence, betrayal, memory and loss.” Variety calls it “a coldly enthralling triumph, […] not just a drama but a reckoning.” As of this writing, it has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. IndieWire says it’s Martin Scorsese’s “best crime movie since Goodfellas.” (And folks, there have been a lot of excellent Scorsese crime movies since Goodfellas.) Tampa Theatre is proud to be among the very few cinemas around the country presenting The Irishman.
