The Tampa Bay SoulFest is an annual event held in Tampa, FL. The event is being presented by the Ybor City Jazz House entertainment venue which is located in the heart of Tampa's Ybor City District.

Event Details

The venue’s owner Eric Fleming who “grew up on old school and classical jazz music” is committed to being on the forefront of live music consistently coming to Tampa Bay. The goal is for this event to be recognized as a multicutural event in which all people with an appreciation for good music come together and have old fashioned fun. Whether they live in the Tampa Bay area, or travel from outside the state, what better city to visit, have a date night, girlfriend’s retreat, or weekend getaway.

Brian McKnight is one of the most popular talents in Adult Contemporary R&B. In 1992, McKnight’s debut self-titled album was released and was followed by two more albums, I Remember You (1995) and Anytime (1997). Anytime sold over two million copies and garnered McKnight a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. In 1999, McKnight released his most successful album to date, Back at One, which went on to sell three million copies with its title track peaking at #4 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. McKnight’s work has earned him 16 Grammy nominations.

Johnny Gill is best known as a successful solo recording artist and as one of the lead singers of platinum selling R&B and pop group New Edition. In 1987, Gill became the sixth and final member of New Edition adding his deep, distinctive voice to help the group forge a more mature sound. The group’s 1987 album Heart Break featured “Can You Stand the Rain”, which went to #1 on the R&B charts. Signing with Motown Records as a solo artist, Gill released his second self-titled album in 1990, which reached #1 on the Billboard Top 100 R&B albums chart. The biggest hit from this album was “My, My, My”, a signature Gill ballad that also reached #1 on the R&B charts.
