Madonna Jervis Wise will be our guest speaker at the next Florida Writers Association-New Tampa/Wesley Chapel meeting. The topic will be "Writing and Publishing Tips in Working with a Nationally Known Publisher”.
Event Details
She will be discussing publishing in regard to working with a large publishing company, Arcadia/History Press, and will compare this to self-publishing. We will also do a short writing exercise to get the creativity flowing!
Madonna has a passion for her community. Her recent release: “Wesley Chapel: Images of America,” by the national publishing company, Arcadia Publishing/History Press was debuted throughout the Tampa Bay Area. Madonna has been researching Tampa Bay history and collaborating with a team of historians for many years. The work was endorsed by the Historic Preservation Advisory Board of Dade City, Tampa Bay History Center, Chambers of Commerce, and numerous civic organizations. She writes and publishes genres which include local history, historical non-fiction and historical fiction.
She has been an educator and writer for all of her adult life, beginning with a newspaper column in her hometown newspaper called the Cougar Beat. She is the author of numerous curriculums, journal articles and federal/state grants. She is working on her eleventh book to be published in 2017.
