The New-Music Consortium presents pianist Keith Kirchoff in The Electro-Acoustic Piano (EAPiano). EAPiano is an ongoing project which supports and promotes new works for piano and electronics. Started in 2009, the project has so far commissioned over thirty different composers and has been presented throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, and England. In addition to many Universities and Colleges, EAPiano has been featured as a part of the SEAMUS festival (Society of Electro Acoustic Music in the United States), ICMC (International Computer Music Conference), Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville in Quebec, and the Festival Internacional de Música Contemporánea in Morelia, Mexico, and has hosted two international composer competitions in collaboration with the American Composers Forum (in 2014) and the University of Toronto (in 2011). The first album in the EAPiano series was released in 2011 on the Thinking outLOUD Records label. This program features new works y Elainie Lillios, Per Bloland, Ryan Carter, Joshua Clausen, and Dan Tramte. Pianist and composer Keith Kirchoff has performed throughout all of North America and much of
Europe. A strong advocate for modern music, Kirchoff has premiered over 100 new works and commissioned over two dozen compositions. As part of his commitment to fostering new audiences for contemporary music, Kirchoff has appeared at colleges and universities across the United States as a lecture-recitalist. He has played with orchestras throughout the U.S., performing a wide range of concerto, including the Boston premiere of Charles Ives's Emerson Concerto and the world premier of Matthew McConnell's Concerto for Toy Piano. Kirchoff has won awards from the Steinway Society, MetLife Meet the Composer, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and was named the 2011 Distinguished Scholar by the SMSA.
