John Beasley, the Grammy-nominated pianist, composer, arranger, who once shared the stage with Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis, will conduct the USF Jazz Ensemble as they romp through charts selected from his celebrated, 4-time GRAMMY nominated “MONK’estra” project. The music was described as “some of the most mesmerizing big band music of recent memory” by the International Review of Music.

In addition to his work in jazz, Beasley has served as Musical Director for multiple TV Shows “Duets”, 50 Years of Sports Illustrated, “Search for the Next PussyCat Doll”, and worked as Lead Arranger for “American Idol”, “Tonight Show”, and the annual “Kennedy Center Awards telecast”. Currently, he arranges for Fox TV’s new singing competition “The Four”. Also, he was Music Director for Steely Dan & Queen Latifah global tours.

Beasley directs the annual International Jazz Day global concerts which have been streamed from Paris, Istanbul, Osaka, White House, Havana and the upcoming concert in St Petersburg for the Thelonious Monk Institute.
