The 10th Annual Charity Event, dedicated to Dj HeadBussa's mother...where proceeds go to the National Ataxia Foundation.
Event Details
For over a decade Neddroy "DJ HeadBussa" Bent has been partnering with The National Ataxia Foundation to host his Annual Charity Celebrity Bowling Event. The Orlando native chose Ataxia as his platform because DJ HeadBussa knows very well the effects of ataxia. Ataxia, really hits close to home for him. In 1998, his mother Theresa Bent was diagnosed with the incurable disease.
This year’s Strike Out Ataxia is very different for two reasons, it is the return after a two year hiatus and Theresa is no longer with us. In 2019, the annual event had to be cancelled just days before, because Theresa had fallen very ill and the family did not want to leave her side. Then in 2020, Covid-19 prevented everyone from attending the decade long event, due to social distancing.
This year’s event will be the most difficult for the DJ, in June 10, 2020 he lost his mother to Ataxia. Instead of being somber, the DJ wants to celebrate his mother Theresa’s life and work towards his lifelong mission, bringing awareness to the rare disease, Ataxia.
Strike Out Ataxia will be held in Tampa Florida on March 7th 2021 on Theresa’s actual birthday at PinChasers Midtown. Regional and local celebrities will be in attendance as well as other Ataxia patients and family members who drive in from all over the state to attend.
