The prominence of global health as a result of the growing impact of disease upon traditional security concerns points to the intersection of diplomacy, public health and national security. The purpose of this symposium is to gather world-renowned experts in the fields of infectious disease, defense, immigration and public health to better understand the relationship and challenges associated with this intersection and to explore the role of diplomacy and public health in conflicted and fragile states and its influence on national security.
