Join us at C.1949 Florida Beer Garden for a discussion about natural hazards and the impact on our ecosystems! We are pleased to feature Dr. Paul Wetmore, who is going to tell us about how scientists study faults and geology to determine earthquake potential...is Florida at risk??? We are also excited to be joined by Mary Stanko, an expert on birds of prey and the crucial roles they play in the ecosystem who will bringing along a few feathered friends.

Speakers include:
Dr. Paul Wetmore: Faults and the Assessment of Hazards in Earthquake Country
A presentation of how scientists study faults, and the geology of regions most at risk of their effects, to make accurate assessments of the seismic/earthquake hazards that those faults pose. Mostly using examples from the southern California region.

Mary Stanko: Badass Birds ...of prey
Birds of prey are specialized in many ways - keeping checks and balances in the natural food chain. When it comes to injury or involuntary capture... how are our native natural ecosystems affected?
