Fine wines from Washington state’s Columbia Crest winery expertly paired with five exceptional courses will be featured at a special dinner June 14 at Pelagia Trattoria.

Pelagia Trattoria Executive Chef Brett Gardiner’s menu is designed to complement the featured wines with dishes perfectly paired with each pour.

Juan Muñoz-Oca, head winemaker at Columbia Crest Winery, will be the guest host for the evening to highlight wines as they are presented with each course. Located along the Columbia River in eastern Washington, Columbia Crest Winery (https://www.columbiacrest.com) is recognized as the leading producer of acclaimed, high-quality wines from that region.

In 2009, Columbia Crest became the first winery from Washington to rank #1 on Wine Spectator’s list of leading wines from around the world. The esteemed winery is also credited with producing more wines rated 90 or above than any other brand.

The wine dinner begins at 7 p.m. and features the following pairings:

2014 Grand Estates Pinot Gris (Columbia Valley)
This light and lively Pinot Gris opens with vibrant lime-citrus and pineapple aromas. Following are vivid peach, pear and tropical fruit flavors joined by subtle nutty and spicy nuances, all balanced by crisp acidity.

Hama Hama Oyster Crudo with Florida watermelon, heirloom radish, shishito peppers and micro marigolds

2014 H3 Chardonnay (Horse Heaven Hills)
This elegant, medium-bodied chardonnay opens with aromas of spiced pear and freshly sliced apples with notes of blossoms and honey. Hints of toasty coconut join flavors of white orchard fruits, pineapple, grapefruit and sweet oak, ending with a lengthy finish of creamy vanilla.

Cedar Plank Faroe Island Salmon prepared with a honey spice lacquer, quinoa eggplant caviar and pomegranate

2014 H3 Merlot (Horse Heaven Hills)
This medium-bodied merlot delivers aromas of spice and blackberry with the perfect balance of earth, cocoa and ripe cherry notes on the palate. The complex flavors are followed by a smooth, velvety finish
