with 1-2 possible Saturday dates
Auditions and performances will be held at the Italian Club in Ybor City. “Open Call” auditions. No appointment necessary. **Pay is cast profit-share of ticket sales.
All those auditioning are encouraged to bring resumes and headshots. Please bring a complete list of all potential conflicts (including travel, etc.). Any conflicts with the posted schedule must be discussed with the Director before casting can be confirmed.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Please prepare TWO contrasting monologues; one-minute each. Monologues should be varying in style and portray the ability to change and embody different characters at will. Monologues showcasing the ability to do a British accent are welcome, though not required.
NOTE: Those auditioning for the roles of BLACK STACHE, MOLLY, SMEE and MRS. BUMBRAKE/TEACHER must prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Vocal auditioners, please provide a track (CD, mp3, etc.) as there will not be an accompanist available. A cappella auditions will also be allowed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a "play with music" therefore, everyone in the cast will sing in sea shanties, fight songs, and other festive music. However, this does NOT mean you need to be a "singer," only that you can sing in a group.
All roles are open to all sexes, races, and ethnic diversities! All actors will double in roles. A large number of characters have a very wide age range. MUSICAL (singing and instrument), STAGE COMBAT/FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE, and ACROBATIC ability a plus, though not required for all roles. The ability to play a ukulele, violin, viola, or harmonica is a plus for the characters TED and SMEE. ALL actors serve variously as sailo
