The Lowry Park Zoo is a perfect North Tampa destination for Bay Area families seeking a day of unique, summer fun.  Rated at one of the top zoos in the country by multiple publications including Parents magazine, Lowry Park Zoo is an equally fun and educational epicenter for Tampa residents and visitors alike.

Throughout the summer of 2011, Lowry Park Zoo is hosting a number of events and attractions specially suited for those with budgets and great times in mind.

On Father's Day weekend, June 18th and 19th, all dads get free admission into the zoo with the purchase of a children's ticket.  What's a better way to show dad some love than bringing him face to face with a monstrous alligator or Florida panther at the zoo?

Later that week, Lowry Park Zoo will host Summer Safari Night on June 24th where the zoo will stay open for three extra hours of fun included with your daily admission.

The zoo will also host "Red, White, and Zoo", July 1st through 4th by honoring all military members and up to three direct dependents of theirs with free admission.

Mark Sunday, July 17th down on your calendar if you've been wanting to bring the family to the zoo but don't want to shell out for full ticket prices.   All day, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wal-Mart will host $5 day where, you guessed it, admission it 5 bucks for everyone 3 and up entering the park.

And, finally, the coup de grace of summer events at Lowry Park Zoo, their 16th annual WaZoo celebration on August 6th.

WaZoo is a yearly fundraiser for Lowry Park Zoo featuring samples of over 250 beers from around the world, local food, live music, and much, much more.  The event starts at 7:30 and tickets go on sale here at the WaZoo website on June 1st.

As you can see, there's no shortage of great events and attractions at Lowry Park Zoo throughout the summer.  Make a day of it, bring the whole family, and have fun with over 1,700 of your closest animal friends, only at Lowry Park Zoo.
