We have been patrons at this establishment several times and always had a decent experience. This last experience was not one of them. Apparently the younger son now owns the place (he's the one with the ponytail). The mother is apparently the head cook, and when we requested a substitution on the appetizer platter we were told it would not be allowed. So we ordered our hummus and falafel. The hummus was warm and bland, no olives available to serve it with. The falafel was good but served with pickles that had no flavor and some anemic tomatoes. But the real problem was the music. It was heavy hip-hop with heavy overtones of offensive language (bitch, nigger, pussy) that really seemed out of place for such a nice restaurant. We called over the manager (the father?) and requested that he put on a less offensive music. He offered jazz and we were fine with that. A couple of jazz songs played and then the same offensive music started again. As we left we asked to speak with the owner and told him how we felt about the music. He flat out told us if we didn't like it there were other bars we could go to, that's what he plays at his restaurant period, it didn't matter how we felt, and d
