Description

Connerton is comprised of 8,000 acres and was originally a working cattle ranch owned by generations of the Conner family. When the family sold the land to Connerton's first developer, both parties came together and strategically created a plan that would preserve the majority of the property. In 2003, the State of Florida purchased the 3,000-acre tract to be managed by the Southwest Florida Management District with $26 million of Forever Florida conservation funds. This means that future generations of Connerton residents will be able to enjoy the same natural beauty and pristine environment that residents appreciate today. Connerton's 3,000-acre nature preserve is home to numerous species of wildlife and is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
