Matoi Sushi

Matoi Sushi is actually a Korean restaurant that poses as a Japanese restaurant (Korean does not sell well in Tampa). The first thing that pops up when you visit their website or look at their menu - which is a basic ingredient in Korean cuisine. Both fare pretty well at Matoi Sushi. Their Galbi is very good - but expensive. I would say Matoi Sushi is a close experience to the Korean food that is available at Sa Ri One nearby on Cypress. The inside looks more like Rice Lounge and Restaurant, if rice actually had any customers that is...Matoi Sushi has plenty of seating space inside and has a private room in the back for special events. My experience with their servers and management has been mixed. Overall though Matoi is not a bad restaurant on either the sushi or the Korean front of things.

Cons: Pretty expensive, service experiences have been mixed

My favorite place for sushi and Korean food! Fresh fish and delicious Korean meals!
