We're barely in to 2013, but Tampa's Westshore District is already gearing up to be the area's fastest growing neighborhood when it comes to real estate, nightlife, and more this year.

According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, about 1,700 apartment units split between five developments are under construction or are expected to be under construction by the end of the year.  This marks a 50 percent increase in the number of Westshore apartments - about 3,500 units now - all in one year.

As real estate in Westshore booms, it seems likely that the area will eventually see a proliferation in even more restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and more than ever before.  The Westshore District plays home to two malls - International Plaza and Bay Street and Westshore Plaza - as well as a number of restaraurants like Lee Roy Selmon's and Charley's Steak House and Raymond James Stadium, home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the USF Bulls football program.

We'll keep you posted as more news arises regarding Tampa's Westshore District, real estate, and more.
