Description
Support the historic Tampa Theatre at it's biggest fundraiser of the year by getting some laughs in with the showing of the movie classic Napolean Dynamite and indulging in delicious wine samplings and gourmet food.
Event Details
While the theme may be silly, the purpose is most serious: Now in its 14th year, the annual WineFest is Tampa Theatre’s biggest fundraising event of the year, benefitting the historic movie palace’s artistic and educational programs as well as its ongoing preservation and restoration.
Patrons are encouraged to dress as their favorite character or come in a Napoleon Dynamite-inspired costume!
Thu, Sep 10 - 7:30pm- Movie Under the Stars
Showing of the campy 2004 classic Napoleon Dynamite, presented by Sykes Enterprises. Guests are welcome to sit in the balcony or bring blankets and lawn chairs to spread out on the stage deck, which will be extended over the downstairs seats in preparation for Friday evening’s Tasting event.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for Tampa Theatre Members.
Fri, Sep 11 - 7:00pm- Wine Tasting
A two-tiered Wine Tasting invites you to “Eat the FOOD” from several of Tampa’s most famous and flavorsome independent restaurants. Guests will have the opportunity to sample dozens of boutique wines and bid on premium silent auction items, while local eateries serve up their favorite fare.
The Grand Tasting 8-10 pm- $50 per person
Premium Tasting 7-8 pm- $85 per person and include admission to the Grand Tasting.
(Tampa Theatre Members save $10 off Premium and Grand tickets for the Friday night Tasting.)
Sat, Sep 12 - 6:30pm- Wine Pairing
The Theatre’s historic stage will be expanded to seat more than 200 for the elegant Wine Pairing at 6:30 p.m. presented by The Bank of Tampa. The multi-course menu, created and catered by Mise En Place chef Marty Blitz, will feature delectable small plates expertly paired with wines specific to each dish.
Seating is limited, and tickets are $250 per person.
Sun, Sep 13 - 11:30am- Wine Brunch
Just like a liger is like a lion and a tiger mixed, the Wine Brunch mixes breakfast fare catered by SONO Café and Mise en Place with mimosas, bellinis and a selection of light wines presented by Smith & Associates Real Estate.
