Description
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to row? A two day clinic for men and women of all ages. No experience is necessary. Learn the skills, get out on the water, and join our Crew!
Event Details
July 18th - 19th, 2015
Time: 8:00am - 11:00am each day
Cost: $200 includes weekend clinic and a month of free rowing with weekday mornings, evenings, and weekend row times available.
If you’re looking for an introduction to the sport of rowing, the Learn To Row program is for you! Participants will learn the basics of rowing technique, boat handling skills, and rowing commands in a fun, safe environment. Designed to give prospective rowers an introduction to the sport, our classes focus on the basics of sweep rowing (one oar) with an emphasis on learning how to row as a crew of 4 or 8 and a coxswain. The clinics are taught by our staff of experienced coaches.
Following an initial orientation and land training, you will actually be on the water your first day. Students will join experienced rowers in 8-person shells. On your second day, you continue to be on the water as you build your skills and begin to feel the camaraderie that comes along with learning as part of a team. Your initial sessions are not overly vigorous or physically taxing. The clinic is designed to help you feel comfortable in the boat, learn basic rowing skills, and experience the thrill of the sport.
Registration is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. So sign up now!
