Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center

My boyfriend and I were driving back from hillsborough river state park April 14th. I had my 2 chihuahuas with us. We got pulled over and my boyfriend had a warrant didn't know about when they arrested him they started questioning me searched me then arrested me for paraphernalia they found in his vehicle. They called animal control and they took my dogs I was told at that time I had 3 days but I could ask for an extension I asked for it right there because I had no idea what was going on or how long I was apparently going to be in jail. My mom was calling animal control daily making arrangements to get then she lives in Minnesota, as do I. They told her they would send me papers in jail to sign for a foster home for my dogs. Within the first 24 hours my dogs were renamed spayed/ neutered( they are pure breed miniture applehead chihuahuas ) and adopted out with 3 days. They told my mom I was not allowed to get them they were no longer my dogs. Both of them are registered to me as emotional support animals.
