National French Fry Day just passed in Tampa Bay (it's on July 13th), it might be tough to decide on the perfect place to celebrate such an important national holiday. So here’s a local’s guide to finding the best French fries in Tampa!

Five Guys

Hands down one of the best burger joints ever, Five Guys knows how to serve up some incredible French fries. You can actually watch them cut and fry the potatoes, and finish them off with magic seasoning. Whether you go for classic or Cajun, there’s no going wrong with these fries.

Daily Eats

A classic Tampa go-to for breakfast all day and wild milkshakes, Daily Eats also has a variety of French fries to choose from. The classic fries are reliable and the chili cheese fries are dangerous, but the sweet potato fries are to die for – not kidding. Pair these thick-cut sweet potato fries with a little bit of honey or maple syrup and you’ll find yourself ordering another round.

Bazille

Although the second floor of a Nordstrom's at the chi chi International Plaza and Bay Street might not be your first thought, it should be. All of Bazille’s food is amazing, but their French fries are definitely a must try. These herbed fries are super light and accompanied by a life-changing Kalamata olive aioli dipping sauce – I’d recommend asking for extra, you’re gonna need it.

Shula Burger

Shula Burger made its debut on SoHo recently and brought some amazing fries along for the ride. The shoestring fries are addicting by themselves, but make ‘em loaded (add Korean BBQ beef, spicy mayo, scallions, cilantro, and toasted sesame seeds) and you’ve got yourself a major foodgasm.

Chick-Fil-A

You probably already know this, but it’s hard to beat Chick-Fil-A’s waffle cut fries. They’re perfectly crispy every time, and the little crunchy bits at the bottom of the sleeve are worth savoring. Don’t forget to ask for Chick-Fil-A sauce to create the most beautiful pairing of flavors.

Goody Goody Burgers

A local favorite and Tampa tradition, Goody Goody has been serving up fries since 1925. There for breakfast? Home fries. Lunch? French fries. A calorie overload? Loaded home fries. Goody Goody has all kinds of fries for all times of day.

BurgerFi

Top your hand-cut fries off any way you’d like at BurgerFi. The topping selection here includes salt and vinegar, parmesan herb, chili and/or cheese, and Cajun seasoning. Pro tip: ask for the urban fries from their secret menu (garlic aioli sauce with a parmesan herb sprinkle).

Beef O Brady's The Original

For some of the best curly fries in the Bay, look no further than your local sports bar. Beef o Brady’s curly fries are seasoned and fried to perfection every time. For regular fries, a basket can be topped with cheese, queso, or chili to give an extra flavor blast.

Yeoman's Cask & Lion Pub

For the best “chips” in town, Yeoman’s has you covered. This British restaurant in downtown Tampa has classic fries, honey sweet potato fries, and even “Churchill Crisps” for authenticity.

Don’t miss out on an excuse to load up on fries. Celebrate National French Fry Day on July 13th the right way – by hitting as many of these local restaurants as possible for the best French fries in Tampa! If all else fails, at least pull up to the drive-thru at McDonald's because let’s face it, their fries are still delicious.
